I’m a Professor in the Department of English Language & Literature. I teach courses on Canadian Literature and Literary Theory, and am focused on developing spaces for interdisciplinary, student-driven research.

I’m Associate Professor of Digital Media at Brock University in the Department of Digital Humanities. I teach on topics relating to digital culture, natural language processing, and interactive media.

As a critical feminist and geohumanities scholar, I am interested in the intersections of health/care and transformative justice, with a particular emphasis on creative explorations, including comics and graphic novels.

As a librarian I’m very interested in how different and creative forms of research can be produced. The Mapping Ann-Marie Macdonald is a great example of what is possible with a great collaboration and a compelling idea.

I was introduced to Ann-Marie MacDonald’s work by Dr. Gordon in my first year. I joined this project because I am interested in the way disciplines can intersect and believe in the value of collaborative feminist research practices.

I came to this project as a student interested in how geographic tools, like maps, can complicate what we understand as universal Truth and facilitate critical cultural discussion.

I have been working on this project with Dr. Gordon since its beginning stages and it is a project that I continue to return to as the collaborative methodologies that we are creating are something that I believe are revolutionary to the English discipline.

I joined this project as a Digital Humanities student interested in story development and website creation. I have been able to enhance my skills through digitalization of data and collaboration in this project.

Dr. Gordon reached out to me after my first semester at Brock to help with archiving and transcribing Ann-Marie MacDonald’s personal collections and notes, giving me an incredibly unique look at the inner-workings of a brilliant and thorough author, contextualizing her work in deeply personal ways.

I moved to St. Catharine’s to complete my Master’s in English Literature at Brock University. As my area of research focus is contemporary Canadian literature written by women, I was excited to join the team and work with MacDonald.
